As we come to the end of the 2022/2023 academic year and reflect on the year it's time to shout about our wonderful students' successes!

October 2022 saw the Mid 2s and Seniors performing at The Sinden Theatre as part of 'Curtain Up 2022' alongside industry professionals in a night full of Musical Theatre... tickets for 2023 are now on sale.

February 4th saw our very first Singing Recital where all our Singing Groups and 1-2-1 Singing students performed in the John Leakey Hall, look out for more to come!

32 Acting students from Mid 1s, Mid 2s and Seniors took part LAMDA exams in March, each and every student performed fantastically and we were so pleased with the results - top marks to Angelica and Bea who both received a whopping 95!!

On the 30th April the Seniors wowed audiences in 'Come Alive 2023' at The Sinden Theatre and during the Easter Holidays 35 performers took to the stage for (the first of many!)

ðŸŒŸEaster Panto at The Sinden Theatre🌟

What an amazing opportunity, all our students did us proud!

And finally we are busy preparing for another full school show at Dulwich Prep Cranbrook to round off the academic year before heading into preparations for 2022/2023 academic year starting of with Curtain Up on the 7th October!

ALUMNI

We are very proud to be able to say that we have a number of ex-students working in the industry with graduates going on to train at various professional colleges including; Arts Educational Schools London, Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, Bird College, Legat School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Urdang Academy, Millennium Performing Arts College, London Studio Centre and Central School of Speech and Drama.

JAMIE MCDONALD

Jamie began her training with Creative Dance in 2000 when her mother Valerie McDonald launched the company to provide a local school for children with a love for the Arts. Jamie went on to become a Teaching Assistant and then Dance Teacher at Creative Dance before training full time at Millennium Performing Arts London. Since graduating in 2010 Jamie has performed with Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, featuring in productions such as Swan Lake, Nutcracker!, Sleeping Beauty, Early Adventures and Cinderella. Other credits include The Phantom of the Opera UK tour, Kiss Me, Kate UK tour, Grange Park Opera and Garsington Opera.
Creative Dance holds a very special place in Jamie’s heart and she will always be grateful for the ten years she spent there.

SASHA MORGAN

After Creative Dance Sasha moved to London to train at The Urdang Academy and to gain a degree in Dance and Musical Theatre. Her third and final year has easily been her favourite because of the opportunities she's been lucky enough to have, such as dancing in a professional music video and dancing for Dua Lipa at the Brit Awards! It’s been difficult but also amazing, and she never would have experienced any of it if it hadn’t have been for the Creative Dance Company! She is two months away from graduation and in the midst of auditions, in addition Sasha is looking forward to getting her yoga teacher training in the coming months!

EMILY LANGHAM

Since graduating from Arts Educational Schools in Chiswick, Emily was lucky enough to be cast in the Chichester and UK Tour production of Mack & Mabel, where she understudied the lead role, Mabel. Emily then went on to play Rumpelteazer in a UK/European tour of Cats. Following that, she spent three months in Toronto performing in Mrs Henderson Presents, before playing Young Carlotta and understudying Young Sally in Folliesat the National Theatre. Emily is currently in the UK Tour of White Christmas as Judy Haynes!

PAIGE SMITH

Paige started dancing 15 years ago at The Creative Dance company where every weekend she was surrounded by people who were like family to her! When Paige was a little older, she was allowed to assist Valerie which was a dream come true. She went on to train professionally at The Urdang Academy when she was 18 and continued at the Creative Dance but now as a teacher and was appointed the position as Head Of Dance. Since leaving college Paige has been lucky enough to perform in shows such as BARE, performed in concerts and most recently finished a contract with the prestigious Carnival UK group as a lead vocalist on their leading cruise ships. Paige says she wouldn’t be the performer or the person she is today if it wasn’t for those Saturdays she spent at The Creative Dance Company!

NILS BEHLING

Nils attended Creative Dance Company for over 10 years and it is truly the reason he is an actor today. After school he went to Oxford University where alongside his studies he performed in many musicals and plays, including at the prestigious Oxford Playhouse in Singin’ In The Rain, Rent, Anything Goes, Candide and Sweet Charity - which he also directed and choreographed. His love of dance continued as part of the Oxford University Contemporary Dance Society. Following his passion for performance, he undertook an MA in Music Theatre at Royal Central School of Drama. Since graduating in 2020, he now works as Production Cast in TUI hotel resorts all over the world.
