Established in September 2000 the Creative Dance Company is celebrating its 12th anniversary. The company has expanded and developed from its humble beginnings in the Vestry Hall Cranbrook, to its current base at the John Leakey Theatre, Dulwich Prep School Kent. The Company meets every Saturday during term time to rehearse forthcoming productions. Classes and workshops have included: Jazz, Tap, Singing, Salsa, Modern Dance, Ballet, Irish, Bollywood, Hip Hop, Street Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. The Company is led by Valerie McDonald who trained at The Arts Educational School in Tring and London and who has just been honoured with a Fellowship from The Royal Society of Arts in recognition of her work with The Creative Dance Company. Valerie's professional experience includes extensive work for the BBC and STV light entertainment, repertory theatre, national tours of "Best of Broadway" and "West Side Story".
